IN MY SIMPLE MIND

I just can't fathom how some would dismiss
The existence of God, His mighty deeds
The great I Am — all-knowing, all-wise Creator
The beginning and end of everything
He who rules the heavens and the earth

I just can't fathom how anyone would credit
A capricious, accidental and random big bang
For our great universe, its vastness, perfection
Don't scientists say every effect has a cause?
Every reaction a source of action?

I just can't fathom how this earth spins one way and not the other
Or eagles fly and bees sting and pollinate or whales sing songs
Or snow or hail or rain forms in factories above
Or spring, summer, winter and fall march year 'round as if ordered
Surely a great big hand though unseen conducts all these

I just can't fathom a baby growing in his mother's womb
How mind-blowingly awesome he becomes with each passing day
Creating, inventing, thinking the unthinkable while his knowledge multiplies
Surely that's the Creator's mind in us, Jesus the Creator says so
Didn't Genesis also say God breathed His Spirit in man?

I just can't fathom that in spite of our separation from God because of sin
Jesus — Savior, Creator — would offer His life to reconcile us with Father God.
Many belittle, reject Him and proudly say: This is my life. I can make it.
When all He asks is this: Humble yourself so I can exalt you.
hold your life in the palm of My hand.

Remember, He's God. The Almighty.
